Workshop Purchasing and Inventory Officer 

Permanent Full Time

Remuneration $69,847 - $74,280 per annum (LGIA Stream A Level 3)

About thePosition

 

Provide purchasing and inventory management services to Council’s workshop staff, while ensuring value for money and the development of good working relationships with all staff and the public in a professional, efficient and confidential manner.

 

About You

 

Do you have experience in parts procurement and the management of inventory in the road transport or earthmoving industries? Council is seeking a motivated individual to be responsible for the ordering of goods, services and resources to help ensure efficient workshop operations.

 

Your experience in maintaining an in-house inventory for parts and consumables for the repairs and maintenance of road trucks, earthmoving equipment, tractors and landscape equipment will see you succeed in the role. With a focus on the health and safety of employees, visitors and the environment, you will assist with the development and maintenance of preferred supplier and standing offer arrangements in accordance with Council Policy and the Local Government Act. You will also have the ability to communicate across all levels and work together with others to achieve common goals.

 

This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).

Position Requirements to address in your cover letter are:

·         Certificate III in Warehousing Operations/Inventory Management and/or experience in a Parts Supply/Purchasing and Inventory             Management roles in the road transport, earthmoving equipment, tractors and landscape industries
·         High Risk Forklift Licence (LF) and experience operating within a stores/ warehouse environment.
·         Ability to liaise and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders regarding a wide range of procurement, purchasing and                 tendering issues.
