Your new role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Advisor to join our team at Council. As a strategic advisor and trusted partner to senior leadership, you will play a critical role in monitoring and evaluating the external policy environment for Council, providing strategic policy advice and in pursuing grant funding and advocacy opportunities aligning with the organisation's goals. This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).

- An experienced policy professional who can collaborate with senior leaders across Council and effectively engage with external stakeholders.
- Someone who can act as an analyst and trusted advisor on complex strategic policy issues affecting Council.
- Proven ability to prepare competitive grant applications for significant capital and operational projects aligned with Council’s goals and priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to understand, develop and review project business cases that support compelling advocacy and grant applications.
- Passionate person to drive regional development policy and funding outcomes for Council.

Application Criteria
- Proven ability to prepare successful grant applications for significant capital and operational projects.
- Demonstrated ability to understand, review and develop project business cases that support compelling advocacy and grant applications.
- Experience in identifying and analysing complex policy issues, development of targeted policy responses and an understanding of policy issues affecting Local Government
- Demonstrated collaboration skills with internal and external stakeholders at both operational and leadership levels.
