Business Administration Traineeships available:
Workforce & Governance
Focus Areas: Human Resources, Administration, Workforce Investigations & Ethics, Safety & Training, and Legal.
Ideal For: Those interested in safety, people management, and legal compliance.
Planning and Regulatory Services
Focus Areas: Support a range of areas such as Building, Plumbing and Compliance, Local Laws, Health and Environment and Development Assessment.
Ideal For: Those interested in urban planning, environmental health, and regulatory frameworks.
Fitzroy River Water
Focus Areas: Responsible for operating and maintaining water and sewerage assets throughout the Region.
Ideal For: Those interested in infrastructure, utilities, and environmental sustainability.
Community Services Directorate
Focus Areas: Provides administration Support to the General Manager, monitoring and processing CCTV Cameras and footage requests, administration of Grants and Sponsorship along with assisting with Community events and services.
Ideal For: Those interested in community engagement, event coordination, and public services.
Airport
Focus Areas: Supports the overall coordination and management of the airport business, along with the facilities and operations of the Rockhampton Airport.
Ideal For: Those interested in aviation, logistics, and operational management.
Rockhampton Regional Waste & Recycling
Focus Areas: Responsible for the operation and maintenance of waste management facilities and kerbside wheelie bin collection services throughout the Rockhampton Region.
Ideal For: Those interested in environmental services and sustainability.
Parks
Focus Areas: assist the Parks Support team in a range of administrative tasks including filing, creation and dispatching of Work Orders, arranging meetings, mail distribution and other tasks as required.
Ideal For: Those interested in horticulture, landscaping, and public space management.
Project Delivery
Focus Areas: Responsible for managing and delivering major projects within the region through the use of Council’s day labour, contractors and subcontractors.
Ideal For: Those interested in construction, project coordination, and infrastructure development.

To be eligible for this role, applicants must be:
- Aged 15 years or older and no longer at school.
- Able to meet citizen, residency, and visa requirements to undertake a traineeship.
- C Class Driver Licence
This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).
Rockhampton Regional Council Traineeship & Apprenticeship opportunities are made available with the assistance of government funding. These positions are subject to further eligibility requirements.
