- $72,271 per annum (LGIA Stream B Level 4 + Site Allowance) + Superannuation

Join our Parks team and help shape the future of Rockhampton’s Kershaw and Botanic Gardens. If you’re passionate about horticulture and take pride in creating beautiful environments, this is your chance to make a lasting impact.
In this hands on horticultural role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and enhancing gardens, turf areas, tree collections and landscapes across the site. Your day to day work includes a wide range of activities such as planting, pruning, mowing, irrigation upkeep, pest and disease control, and preparing open spaces for community events. You’ll operate and maintain a range of horticultural equipment, contribute to garden rejuvenation projects, and ensure our public spaces remain safe, vibrant and welcoming.
This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).
What we are looking for
- Knowledge and experience in horticulture and open space maintenance in a large public park or garden environment.
- Ability to safely operate and maintain small machinery including but not limited to tractors, mowers, brush cutters, chain saws, blowers and other plant.
- A motivated self-starter with a passion to deliver high standard quality horticulture works.
- Someone who enjoys and is capable of physical and outdoor work.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to carry out your duties in a safe manner and assist in building a professional and positive safety culture.

Application Criteria
- Certificate II or III in Horticulture or equivalent and/or substantial work experience within a horticultural environment.
- Demonstrated understanding of safe work practices, including manual handling techniques and equipment operation.
- A strong team player that demonstrates positive attitude and can work independently.
