Plumbing and Drainage Inspector

  •  Permanent / Full Time
  •  Monday to Friday, 72.5 hours per fortnight, 9 day fortnight
  • $101,528 $105,760 per annum (LGIA Stream A Level 5) + Superannuation
  • Location – Rockhampton

Your new role

Do you hold a Queensland plumbing and drainage licence and have experience working in the industry?

Rockhampton Regional Council is seeking a qualified Plumbing and Drainage Inspector to join our Building, Plumbing and Compliance Services team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for assessing plumbing and drainage applications, issuing permits, and conducting inspections to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and standards. You’ll investigate complaints, provide expert advice to internal teams and customers, and document sanitary drainage plans using CAD and GIS systems.

This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).

Application Criteria

  • A trade qualification with a Queensland Plumber and Drainer’s Licence, and a Construction Industry Induction (White Card).
  • Proven ability to resolve complex plumbing and drainage issues using sound judgment and initiative.
  • Demonstrated experience interpreting and  applying plumbing and drainage legislation and standards
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to stakeholders and the community.
