- Monday to Friday, 76 hours per fortnight, 9 day fortnight
- $72,271 per annum (LGIA Stream B Level 4 + Site Allowance) + Superannuation

Your new role
Rockhampton Regional Council are looking for a Gardener to join their team in Parks Operations.
In this role you’ll be part of a dedicated team responsible for maintaining and enhancing the Rockhampton Region’s parks, open spaces, and recreational areas. You’ll play a key role in delivering high quality horticultural services, supporting the Team Leader to ensure our community spaces are safe, vibrant, and well presented. From mowing and planting to irrigation and equipment maintenance, your work will contribute directly to the enjoyment and wellbeing of residents and visitors.
This is a hands-on, outdoor role where your skills in horticulture, teamwork, and customer service will be valued and developed.
This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).
What we are looking for
- Demonstrated experience in horticulture and open space maintenance.
- Hold an MR Licence.
- Hold a Construction Industry White Card.
- Ability to safely operate and maintain small machinery including but not limited to tractors, mowers, brush cutters, blowers and other plant.
- A motivated, proactive, self-starter with a passion to deliver quality horticulture works.
- Someone who enjoys and is capable of physical and outdoor work.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to carry out your duties in a safe manner whilst ensuring the safety of your team members and public.

Application Criteria
- Hold an MR driver licence, construction White Card, and Certificate II or III in Horticulture or equivalent and/or substantial work experience within a horticultural environment.
- Knowledge and experience with irrigation, safe operation of zero turn mowers, whipper snippers, blowers and adhering to WHS procedures.
- A strong team player that demonstrates positive attitude and can work independently.
