- Permanent Full Time
- Monday to Friday, 76 hours per fortnight, 9 day fortnight
- LGIA Stream C BT Level 2/3 (Licenced Plumber/Drainer) + Site + Tool + Leading Hand Allowance 3 - $90,670 - $93,071 (Minimum rate depending on qualifications and experience)
- LGIA Stream B (Construction Experience) Level 6 + Site + Leading Hand Allowance 2 - $81,303
- Potential earning capacity of $100,000+ per annum (Dependant on applicable penalty rates, over time and allowances)
- Licenced Trade Allowance for qualified plumbers and Annual Wage Increases in line with Certified Agreement

Fitzroy River Water is looking for a dynamic and hands-on Team Leader to drive the delivery of critical water and wastewater infrastructure projects across the region.
Whether you're a licensed plumber/drainer, or an experienced civil construction professional, this is your chance to take the lead on high-impact projects - from laying new water and sewer mains to refurbishing essential infrastructure that keeps our community running.
In this role, you’ll:
- Lead a skilled, multi-disciplined crew on-site
- Coordinate maintenance and capital works projects
- Plan and organise jobs, ensuring everything runs smoothly and safely
- Oversee testing and upkeep of essential water and sewer infrastructure
We’re looking for someone with practical experience in plumbing, drainage, pipelaying, and/or civil construction. A trade qualification is a bonus - but not essential if you’ve got the skills and knowledge.

This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).
What we are looking for
- Proven experience in the construction, maintenance, and operation of water and wastewater systems - particularly in plumbing, drainage, pipelaying and/or civil construction.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to guide a construction crew and deliver quality outcomes on-site.
- Solid time management and organisational abilities, with confidence in coordinating multiple jobs and meeting deadlines.
- A commitment to safety, with the ability to contribute to and uphold Council’s Safety-First culture on every project.

Application Criteria
- Hands-on experience in the construction, installation, and refurbishment of water and wastewater reticulation systems - especially in plumbing, drainage, and pipe laying.
- Ability to lead and motivate a diverse, multidisciplined team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to work collaboratively and positively with team members, contractors, and other stakeholders
