Rockhampton Regional Council have a rewarding leadership opportunity available as a Lead Educator at our City Child Care Centre.
As a Group Leader at Rockhampton Regional Council’s City Child Care Centre, you will lead a team to create a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for children. You’ll work closely with the Child Care Teacher to plan and deliver programs that support each child’s development, while guiding and mentoring assistants to ensure smooth daily operations. Building strong relationships with families and colleagues is key, along with maintaining compliance and promoting continuous improvement.
Future Opportunities: With ongoing operational requirements at the Centre, further opportunities are expected to arise, which may support continued employment beyond the initial contract period for the Fixed Term role.
This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).
What we are looking for
- Possess or be working towards (with at least 50% completion) an approved diploma level qualification in early childhood as approved under the National Quality Framework.
- Hold a current First Aid and CPR certification along with a positive Blue Card for working with Children and Young People.
- Passion for early child care education and strong aspiration to lead and support the child care team.
- Demonstrated experience working with and expert knowledge of the National Quality Framework, Early Years Learning Framework and industry standards.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor centre staff
- Strong communication skills and ability to form great working relationships with children, families and other staff members.
