- Monday to Friday, 72.5 hours per fortnight, 9 day fortnight
- Pro Rata amount of $78,853-$84,329 per annum (LGIA Stream A Level 2) + Superannuation

Your new role
Are you passionate about helping others, quick-thinking, and a confident communicator? Rockhampton Regional Council is seeking a Customer Service Officer to be a welcoming ambassador for our community. In this dynamic role, you’ll engage with residents, businesses, and community members across multiple touchpoints, including our Call Centre, Customer Service Centres, and digital platforms.

This position is primarily based in Rockhampton, with rostered shifts at our Gracemere and Mt Morgan Customer Service Centres to support service delivery as needed.
This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).

- Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and empathetically across various channels.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and high attention to detail, particularly when handling customer enquiries, data entry, and administrative tasks.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, contributing to shared goals and supporting colleagues.
- Proficiency in using digital systems and tools, including Microsoft Office and customer request management systems.
- Understanding of confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive information and interactions.

Application Criteria
- Ability to work as an effective member of a team in a fast paced and high-volume work environment and demonstrated ability to show initiative to ensure workload is completed in a timely manner.
- Excellent customer service skills, ensuring a customer-centric approach in handling requests, complaints, inquiries, and transactions both in-person and within a call centre setting.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and show sensitivity in customer service, relating to diverse individuals, including those with complex needs, while treating all customers fairly and respectfully.
