Heavy Vehicle Mechanic

  • Permanent Full Time, Monday – Friday, 76 hours per fortnight, 9-day fortnight
  • $44.32 - $48.26 p/hr + Overtime (LGIA Stream C C10A&R – C7A&R $83,393 to $92,976 per year depending on qualifications and experience, inclusive of Site Allowance, Tool Allowance and 10% A&R incentive payment*)
  • $3,000 attraction payment upon successful completion of probationary period
  • $500 retention payment every 6 months from successful completion of probationary period

Council is hiring qualified Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to service and maintain a wide range of plant and vehicles, including earthmoving equipment, trucks, landscaping machinery, and light vehicles.

This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).

What We’re Looking For

  • Trade qualified Motor Mechanic or Heavy Vehicle Mechanic (and any other tickets/certificates)
  • Hands-on experience with light/heavy vehicles & civil plant:
    • Fault finding
    • Auto electrical
    • Repairs & overhauls
    • Testing & modifications
    • Tyres & servicing
  • A strong safe work attitude
