- $79,459 per annum pro rata (LGIA Stream A Level 2) + Superannuation

Council is seeking fixed term team members to join their passionate and dedicated Local Laws team. This is a varied, community-focused role where no two days are the same.
The Local Laws Unit prides itself on its proactive approach to community engagement, enforcement and education, which encourages compliance and understanding of Local Laws within our community. You will be able to communicate effectively with a broad range of people and use your out-of-the-box thinking style to solve problems with innovative solutions.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, can make sound decisions in dynamic situations, and is motivated by making a positive difference in the community.
This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).

- Someone who enjoys working both indoors and outdoors.
- Ability to handle/collect, impound and care for animals.
- Excellent communication skills and an interest in community engagement and education.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentialitywhen dealing with sensitive information and documentation.
- Demonstrates a safety-first attitude.
- Ability to record data with a high level of accuracy.

Application Criteria
- Customer service skills with the ability to negotiate, de-escalate and resolve conflict and problems with professionalism and a positive attitude.
- Observation skills and the ability to obtain evidence to produce written reports.
- Confidence in handling, identifying and managing animal behaviours, particularly with cats and dogs
