Electrician

  • LGIA Stream C C10 – C6 + Site + Tool Allowance - $80,586 - $92,461 (Minimum rate depending on qualifications and experience)

In this role, you’ll use your expertise to maintain, install and troubleshoot electrical systems across Rockhampton’s water and sewerage assets. This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).

What we are looking for

  • Qualified, safety-focused Electrician with experience in maintenance, installations, and fault finding across complex assets.
  • Skilled in process control systems, communications networks, electrical testing, and interpreting technical plans.
  • Proactive problem solver able to work independently, prioritise tasks, and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills and a commitment to customer service and Council values.
  • Holds relevant trade qualifications and safety certifications, with ability to meet physical requirements and participate in on-call roster.

Application Criteria

  • Possession of the required electrical trade qualifications and safety certifications, including a current Queensland Electrical Licence, CPR/LVR and White Card. Plus any other relevant licences.
  • Demonstrated experience in electrical maintenance, installations and fault-finding across complex infrastructure, with the ability to use electrical test equipment.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplined team, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and effective time management.
  • Demonstrated compliance and commitment to workplace safety, with the ability to proactively identify and manage risks to ensure all tasks are completed safely and to a high standard.
