Your new role
An opportunity has become available at Rockhampton Regional Council for an enthusiastic and driven professional to join our team as Coordinator of Community Assets and Technical Services. Reporting to the Manager Community Assets and Facilities, the Coordinator will lead a diverse team of professionals within the Asset Maintenance Scheduling & Community Project as well oversee Council’s Aquatic facilities and Wet Plays.
The ideal candidate will be highly organised, have experience with contract management, significant knowledge in Aquatic Facility operations along with a proven ability to lead and mentor a diverse team to achieve organisational goals.

This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).
What we are looking for
- Bachelor of Engineering, Registered Engineer of Qld (RPEQ) and substantial experience in supervisory and contract management roles.
- Pool plan operator qualifications (Or ability to obtain)
- Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough research and analyse information and data with measurable outcomes to integrate into Council Reports and make informed decisions.
- Ability to craft and execute community engagement strategies ensuring project renewal aligns with stakeholders' needs and expectations,
- Demonstrated practical experience that will highlight the ability to address and meet community needs that coincides with Council’s values and behaviours.
- Capability in solving problems and flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements or operational priorities.
- Proven leadership capabilities with experience in mentoring and managing employees, with a demonstrated ability to guide professional development and foster a collaborative team environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to engage and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve positive business outcomes.

Application Criteria
- Degree in Engineering and substantial contract and project management experience with ability to collaborate effectively with key internal and external stakeholders.
- High level proficiency in comprehensive report writing and ability to analyse complex information and data to support project or operational recommendations.
- Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to lead, guide and motivate your team to plan and deliver both daily operational goals and long-term strategic objectives.
- Significant knowledge in Aquatic Facility operations with a strong ability to effectively solve related complex operational problems and present viable solutions.
