Casual Waste Facilities Officer

Your new role

Step into a hands-on role as a Casual Waste Facilities Officer, where you’ll support the delivery of essential waste and recycling services across the region. You’ll be part of a team that keeps operations running smoothly, assisting with bin deliveries and collections, facility operations, and a variety of site-based tasks.

 

From working with equipment and maintaining sites through to supporting customers at the gatehouse, no two days are the same. If you enjoy practical work, being outdoors and contributing to a cleaner, more sustainable community, this is a great opportunity to make an impact.

 

This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).

 

What we are looking for

  • Strong focus on safe work practices, including risk awareness, manual handling and adherence to WHS procedures
  • Commitment to safety, teamwork and customer service, with the ability to demonstrate Council’s values in day-to-day work
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and reliable approach
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to engage with customers and colleagues in a professional manner
  • Current Construction Industry Induction (White Card), with the ability to operate a motor vehicle and use tools and equipment relevant to the role

  • Demonstrated experience in operating tools, equipment or plant in a waste, construction or similar environment, with a focus on completing tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Reliable and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently or within a team while managing competing tasks
  • Commitment to delivering safe, high-quality services, with a strong focus on teamwork and achieving positive outcomes for the organisation and community.
