Your new role
Council is seeking a casual Venue Duty Manager to provide operational supervision during performances and events. This role will include working weekdays, evenings and weekends as required.
Your interest in the arts and motivation to contribute to the local community will allow you to effectively liaise with both internal and external customers including production crew members, community organisations and volunteers. In order to be successful in the position you will be an outcome driven individual with excellent time management and organisational skills.
Opportunities also exist to gain additional hours in other areas of our Major Venues team.
This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).
What we are looking for
- A positive attitude with previous experience in customer service preferably in venue operations
- Reliable and organised individual with the ability to work well under pressure, reflected though time management skills
- Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate or ability to obtain
- Responsible Manager of Licenced Venue Certificate preferred not essential
- Undertake the role of Chief Warden and manage the evacuation of the venue in emergency situations
- First Aid Certificate or the ability to obtain
- Blue Card for Working with Children or the ability to obtain

- Experience working in a supervisory role preferably within the venues and events or hospitality industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to form good working relationships with a variety of key stakeholders.
- Positive attitude, ability to use initiative and provide excellent customer service to patrons.
- Ability to work within a fast-paced team environment and meet competing demands.
