IT Project Support Officer

  • Permanent / Full Time
  • Monday to Friday, 72.5 hours per fortnight, 9 day fortnight
  • $94,173 – $100,171 per annum (LGIA Stream A Level 4) + Superannuation
  • Location – Rockhampton

Your new role

As an IT Projects Support Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of Council’s digital transformation initiatives. Working closely with project managers, business analysts and stakeholders, you’ll assist across the full project lifecycle, from planning and coordination through to testing, training and implementation, ensuring successful outcomes and smooth transition into business operations.

You’ll also engage directly with end users by delivering training, supporting change management activities and promoting the adoption of new technologies. This varied role is ideal for a proactive and organised professional who enjoys problem-solving, building relationships and contributing to continuous improvement across the organisation.

This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).

What we are looking for

  • Demonstrated experience providing project support within IT or digital transformation environments, with strong organisational skills.
  • Proven ability to design and deliver engaging training (in-person and online) and support user adoption of new systems and processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience supporting testing (e.g. UAT), process improvements or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • High-level administrative capability with strong attention to detail, sound judgement, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
