Workplace Investigation Officer 

  • Permanent / Full Time 
  • Monday to Friday, 72.5 hours per fortnight, 9 day fortnight 
  • $94,173 – $106,576 per annum (LGIA Stream A Level 4 – 5) + Superannuation 
  • Location – Rockhampton

In this role, you’ll lead and support investigations into a wide range of employee and public complaints. You’ll analyse information, uncover facts, and deliver clear, balanced findings that help ensure fair and accountable outcomes across Council. 

Whether you’re already working in investigations or coming from HR, ER/IR, compliance, case management, or complaints handling, this role offers a strong pathway to grow your career in a highly respected and specialised space. 

Depending on your experience, you may be appointed as a Workplace Investigations Officer or Senior Workplace Investigations Officer. 

This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check). 

What we are looking for 

  • Experience in Human Resources, compliance, investigations, or a related field 
  • Sound judgement and the ability to manage sensitive matters with diplomacy and discretion 
  • Strong written skills, including drafting investigation reports and formal documentation 
  • High attention to detail and a proactive, forward-thinking approach 
  • Strong research, planning, and time management skills 
  • Ability to work autonomously and build effective working relationships

Application Criteria 

  • Demonstrated experience in Human Resources, compliance, investigations, or a related field, or a qualification in Certificate IV (Government, Investigations, Business or Law) 
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgement, and manage sensitive matters 
  • Strong analytical, planning, and organisational skills, with the ability to work autonomously 
  • Proven ability to produce clear, structured written documentation, including reports
