- $71,709 per annum + (LGIA Stream B Level 3) + Site Allowance + Superannuation

Looking for a hands-on role where you can make a real difference? Join Rockhampton Regional Council as an Animal Management Assistant and play a vital role in the daily operations of our Animal Management Centre.
This is an active, practical position where you'll be involved in the day-to-day care of impounded animals and the upkeep of the facility. Your duties will include cleaning kennels and animal enclosures, feeding and caring for animals, maintaining safe and hygienic environments, assisting with the identification of impounded animals, and carrying out general gardening, grounds maintenance, and minor maintenance tasks.
Working both indoors and outdoors, you'll help ensure the Centre remains clean, well-maintained, and operational while supporting the welfare of animals in our care.

This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).

- Ability to record data with a high level of accuracy.

Application Criteria
- Demonstrated experience in animal care and husbandry, including animal handling, enclosure cleaning, food preparation, and administering medication in accordance with established procedures.
- Ability to perform physically demanding operational duties, including lifting, carrying and moving animal feed, supplies and equipment, as well as operating grounds maintenance equipment such as zero-turn mowers and whipper snippers safely and effectively.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with others, contribute positively to a team environment, and support the achievement of shared goals.
