Your new role
Council is currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of Council projects including the establishment of project management plans and programs; including resource plan that will ensure outcomes achieved within budget and timeframes.
The Project Manager is responsible for establishing the overall project delivery plan from the award of contract/s from design through to construction and project close out, ensuring completion is within budget and prescribed timeframes and the achievement of project outcomes.
This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).
What we are looking for
- A Proven track record in delivering large capital projects within required timeframes, budgets and quality constraints.
- Significant demonstrated understanding of budgets, control of budgets and cost controls and possess Tertiary Qualification in Project Management, Engineering (or related discipline) and/or substantial experience within a Project Management role.
- Exceptional communication skills will enable you to manage and coordinate exciting projects while you perform the role of Contract Superintendent/Principal’s Authorised Person and provide leadership in time, cost, quality, communications and project scope.
- Time management skills and ability to manage a number of competing priorities; you will prepare project briefs, tender documentation, carry out tender evaluations and undertake project management including the supervision of staff and contractors.

Application Criteria
- Tertiary Qualification in Project Management, Engineering (or related discipline) and/or substantial experience within a Project Management role.
- Experience delivering large capital projects within required timeframes, budgets and quality constraints.
- Demonstrated experience in the preparation of tender specifications, contract management and the management of work programs.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to work cooperatively with various key stakeholders, including consultants, contractors, government agencies, businesses and the community.
