Waste Facility Officer

- Wednesday – Saturday Roster, 76 hours per fortnight
- $95,691 per annum (LGIA Stream B W&RCA Level 3 + Site Allowance) + Superannuation

Your new role
Are you passionate about waste management and transfer station operations? Do you have experience in waste acceptance, weighbridge operations, customer service, and cash handling? In this role you will work as part of a multi-disciplined team, undertaking a wide range of weighbridge operation and labouring tasks.
As part of our team, you will be responsible for monitoring and assessing materials/waste brought into the Waste Facility for disposal/recycling and screening materials that are not permitted to be disposed of at the Waste Facility. You’ll also take charge of operating the weighbridge, a key part of our operations. Plus, you’ll get to enjoy a variety of outdoor tasks, from site inspections and garden maintenance to relocation of certain wastes.
This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).
What we are looking for
- Previous experience in a waste disposal environment.
- A positive attitude with the ability to complete both manual labour tasks and the operation of computer software.
- Customer service skills with experience in dealing with members of the public, co-workers and contractors.
- Cash handling skills including processing EFTPOS, till checks and reconciliations with a great attention to detail.
- Ability to carry out your duties in a safe manner whilst ensuring the safety of your team members and customers.
