IT - Technology Infrastructure Security and Network Officer

  • Fixed Term (until 29 January 2027) / Full Time
  • Monday to Friday, 72.5 hours per fortnight, 9 day fortnight
  • Pro Rata $107,154 - $111,619 per annum (LGIA Stream A Level 5) Superannuation
  • Location – Rockhampton

Your new role

Help protect and strengthen the technology systems that support one of Queensland's largest regional councils.

As a Technology Infrastructure and Network Officer, you'll play a vital role in supporting Council's IT infrastructure with a strong focus on CCTV Smart City network and networking activities. Working within the Information Systems team, you'll help maintain reliable technology services across the organisation, while supporting day-to-day infrastructure and network administration requirements.

This is a diverse and rewarding role where you'll contribute to the reliable operation of Council's technology environment through CCTV support, network administration, infrastructure maintenance and Smart City network assistance. You'll also assist with CCTV cameras, digital banners and wireless access points, helping ensure these services remain, stable secure and effective.

Working closely with colleagues, stakeholders and technology vendors, you'll participate in infrastructure projects, troubleshoot complex technical issues and help implement innovative technology solutions that deliver positive outcomes for Council and the community.

This position requires the successful completion of an Aviation Security Check, including police, citizenship and politically motivated violence checks, as well as a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).

What we are looking for

  • Experience supporting and maintaining IT infrastructure, CCTV systems, networks and Microsoft-based environments
  • Awareness of cyber security controls, and safe technology practices, with the ability to follow established processes and escalate security matters as required.
  • Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across software, hardware and network environments
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with stakeholders across all levels of the organisation
  • Relevant IT degree qualification and/or demonstrated experience in information technology infrastructure, CCTV support or network administration

Application Criteria

  • Degree qualification in Information Technology (or related discipline) and/or demonstrated experience in technology infrastructure, CCTV support or network administration roles
  • Demonstrated experience supporting LAN/WAN environments, Microsoft server technologies, cloud services and enterprise infrastructure platforms
  • Strong problem-solving, organisational and project support skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands and deliver quality outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with stakeholders while providing high levels of customer service and technical support
